What does a rev limiter do on a small engine?
A rev limiter puts a ceiling on how fast your engine can spin. When the engine reaches the number you set, the limiter cuts the spark for an instant, the revs drop back under the limit, and the engine fires again.
Why a small engine needs one
From the factory, most small engines have a governor. It closes the throttle as engine speed reaches its set limit, so the engine never spins faster than it was built for.
Take the governor out to make more power and nothing stops the engine from over-revving. A rev limiter puts that ceiling back, at a number you choose.
How the Guardian does it
The Steamer Power Guardian™ is a three-wire rev limiter. The red wire splices into the coil's factory kill wire. When the engine hits your limit, Guardian grounds the kill wire for an instant and the coil skips a spark.
Set your rev limit in the STOKER app, with live RPM. No flywheel off, no coil swap. Pick how the cut feels: soft, medium, or hard. Hard pops and crackles.
Two-step launch
Close the switch and it holds a second, lower limit on the line. Then launch.
