Guardian works on any magneto-fired small engine with a kill-to-ground coil: the single-wire kill. Not sure? With the engine idling, touch the coil's kill wire to ground. Many Briggs V-twins join both coils' kill wires through small diodes in the engine harness. Check those diodes before you install the Guardian. No battery or charging system needed.
